Like quite a few follow- up films, “An Inconvenient Sequel” is likely to suffer from comparison to its predecessor. That film also made exciting use of graphics that dazzlingly captured Gore’s passion. But in 2. 01. 7, climate change is no longer news, and the visual style used by Cohen and Shenk is little more than serviceable. As a result, the sequel lacks the in- your- face immediacy of the film that transformed Gore from a president who might have been to a prophet of the zeitgeist.
Still, “An Inconvenient Sequel” is an informative documentary that’s certain to bolster awareness of an ongoing cause for alarm. What “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power”.
